The Bonaventura is the main eatery at the Pergola Hotel & Spa. A full English and Continental Buffet is served during the morning and a buffet dinner with various weekly themes is served during the evenings. On certain occasions, the dinner may be a 3-course waiter served, often depending on the season. Our chefs prepare a wide range of daily dietary specials that can cater for all diners.

Mellieħa is one of Malta's most picturesque destinations, with great archaeological and historic heritage and a unique natural environment. Surrounded by fertile valleys, Mellieħa offers plenty to discover and explore.

Nature walks and Trekking 🥾
If you feel adventurous, or like nature walks and trekking, Mistra Valley and Selmun are situated just 2km away from the village, and offer opportunities for peaceful walks surrounded by various native Mediterranean plants and aromatic shrubs growing on the Mediterranean garigue and maquis, regularly accompanied by panoramic views from hills and seaside cliffs.
The Mellieħa Feast 🎇
If you happen to be in Malta around the 8th of September, then you might want to visit the Mellieħa village feast and enjoy the beautiful fireworks.
Parish Church of Mellieħa ⛪
The Mellieħa parish church is a 19th-century baroque style building built in traditional Maltese stone. The major attraction within this church is the five paintings by the famous Maltese artist Giuseppe Calì.
The Mellieħa Air Raid Shelter
The Mellieħa air raid shelter is the largest of 46 shelters dug in Mellieħa during World War Two, reaching a length of over 500 metres. The shelter includes waxwork characters in various rooms, showing how the Maltese took shelter during the bombing.
Popeye Village 🎬
Popeye Village is an entertainment park based on the real film set used in the 1980’s movie 'Popeye'. It is a great place for families with children. Within the set itself, one can enjoy various reenactments by actors. Visitors can also use the beach facilities to swim in Anchor Bay or just lie down by the beach.
The Red Tower 🛡️
St. Agatha’s Tower, or as it’s most commonly known, the Red Tower stands guard over Mellieħa Bay. Like all other watchtowers along the coastline, it was built as a signalling post for communication, in this case with towers in Gozo.
Għadira Nature Reserve 🦩
The Għadira Nature Reserve, with its rare habitat, is one of the few places in Malta where you can go bird watching. It is located inland from Mellieħa Bay. Various species of migrating birds visit the wetland and the salt marsh each year.
Tunnara Museum 🎣
An interesting fishing museum with various exhibits from the past, related to the tuna fishing by Mellieħa fishermen. Originally a fort, the place was later used in the second world war as a defensive position. It has since been restored and converted into a museum.
Il-Majjistral Nature Park 🌲
Il-Majjistral Nature Park offers miles of coastal walks across rocky paths with superb views of the cliffs and the sea. The wild habitat in the park offers a look at the typical arid Maltese countryside, with its variety of wild plants and fauna, like the common lizards and the not so common local snakes.
Beaches 🏖️
Mellieħa is close to some of the most gorgeous beaches in Malta, with the most famous being Mellieħa Bay 'Għadira', Malta’s largest sandy beach. Its crystal clear waters are very shallow which makes it ideal for families with little children.
